Sharon is a native Texan and Barry got here as soon as he could, 25 years ago. In 2000, he validated his standing as a naturalized Texan with the purchase of a ¾ ton pick-up and their rural property near Brenham, Texas.
After a lifetime of big-city living, traveling the world, and corporate management careers, the Brasses fulfilled their dream to settle down in beautiful Washington County. In 2004, they opened Parcel Plus as a way to help local businesses and individuals through their business expertise.
“We immediately felt at home here,” says Sharon. “We love this community and feel blessed that we have been so warmly welcomed. It’s a community of good people who are warm and kind – and we are privileged to be part of it.”
Barry is a sales and marketing executive. Before opening the Parcel Plus center, he most recently worked at Unisys Corporation helping large client organizations plan and implement computer-based solutions, which required leadership of sizeable project teams. In various roles at Unisys, he managed national and government accounts, negotiated long-term contracts, and consistently exceeded multi-million dollar goals.
Throughout his 30+ year career, Barry received numerous achievement and leadership awards. He served as director of corporate and product marketing at Testdata Systems Corporation, manager of performance management at General Foods Corporation, and computer operations manager at Doubleday & Company.
Barry’s degree is in business administration and he served in the US Army, including a tour in Vietnam. He has a tender spot in his heart for veterans and those still in active military service, giving his support to their needs at every opportunity.
Sharon was the founder and owner of Market Dimensions, a successful marketing communications company, from 1999 to 2007. Clients included Dell, HP, Compaq, US Oncology, Texas Oncology and a host of small-to-medium sized companies.
Her previous roles included management and director positions in small companies, start-ups, and giants such as Compaq, Unisys and KPMG.
For the past 14 years, Sharon directed programs to launch companies, announce new products, and to promote corporate announcements. Her projects included strategic planning, project management, public relations, website development, advertising, event and tradeshow management, development of collateral and promotional materials.
Throughout her career, Sharon has led large teams and mentored many professionals to achieve their career goals. Today, some of her best friends are people she has helped in business relationships.
